My lovely readers, I'm so sorry to keep you waiting for new posts for so long. Like in my life I get really excited about stuff quickly, but then it passes and I often wouldn't finish my projects. Because this blog is an ongoing project I fall in and out just like that. I find passion to write and post delicious stuff, but then it passes. Good news is that it's coming back for a while now, and I think future looks bright. Do you remember how I was openly and absolutely in love with two newly discovered acts since I moved to London? After Grovesnor and Crystal Castles, this number just became a magical three. Band Discovery is proudly joining the party, and the ticket was granted with their album "LP". Critics say it's very synthy, but I think, it's firstly very bassy. They also say it's a hip-hop project, but I fail to hear it anywhere on the album, maybe they are referring to the vocals, which are distorted with the same effect that on Kanye's last album. I have been listening to it (and almost nothing else) non stop since I got it about two weeks ago. Not just this song, which is sweet as honey, but the whole album is completely amazing, and I love every single track on it, it is exactly what I was missing. Even the cover art is a masterpiece on it's own.

This is the joint product of Vampire Weekend keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij and Ra Ra Riot singer Wes Miles. That's all I want to say about it. Don't want to ruin it with text. It's my new big thing!

I am nothing short of honored, after over 20.000 people watched my YouTube "Skyscrapers" video. Making it, almost exactly one year ago, was as fun as playing a computer game for me, and I never planned for anyone, except for a few friends, to see it. I enjoy the comments, and I thank anyone who watched it. It got me motivated to produce more content, and in past few days I indeed half finished the new video. Like the original one, it's going to be a collection of enhanced YouTube clips, but with a cool twist. All of them will be either amateur or pro footage from airplanes, helicopters & other vertical moving vehicles/objects, and will be covering the official ten greatest skylines in the World. It is planned to be released within the next few weeks.

Cities will be listed as follows (and here is the official ranking on emporis.com):

This listing ranks cities by the visual impact of their skylines. Each building with 12 or more floors in the city proper is assigned points based on its floor count (see the table on emporis.com). The point total for each city is calculated automatically. Calculation does not include TV towers, masts, bridges, or other structures. The listing actually puts Guangzhou on the tenth position, and Dubai on eleventh, but this will change shortly, after Burj Dubai's official completion.

I set much higher standards for this project, because I want it to look professional. Here are a few highlights:

It is going to be in HD, but obviously not all required footage was available in such extremely high resolution. Sections about Dubai, Tokyo, Chicago, and New York City will be mostly, if not all in HD.
Video will be exported in a widescreen format 16:9.
No titles or watermarks whatsoever are allowed to be visible in the final version of the video.
Not a single frame should be shoot from a static viewpoint.
Not a single frame should be shoot from the ground level. It is all about looking down on the skyscrapers.
All footage must have been recorded during daylight.
A vast majority of clips will be enhanced with the iMovie technology called "video stabilization", which smoothens the camera motion, and stills the picture shaking. When needed, functions like "playback speed control", "reverse video" and picture enhancement will be used.
There will be an animated world maps, as a smooth introductions to the individual city sections.
There is a small chance that two versions of video will be released. The compact one, fitting within YouTube's 10 minute time cap, and an uncut one, divided in the half on two episodes.

If anyone knows where to get more footage of Bangkok, Shanghai, Seoul, and mostly Singapore (!), please share. It's almost as all flights around those cities were banned.

I was talking about it a long time ago, and if you check out this post from one year ago, you can hear the track. On june 8th, 2009 - a few weeks ago the band (wisely) released the video for it, with the single release following soon. It already got a lot of buzz, and it's only right because I think the song is amazing beyond words. I described it as "Very Intense" a year ago, and I have all the faith in the single, which is currently #1 on Billboard "Bubbling Under Hot 100" Chart. Not to mention how hot one of the two band members is. Get Your iPods ready!

This is scary. Did you know, that there are actual, operating "dust" sized chips, that can store 38-digit numbers using 128-bit Read Only Memory (ROM). The "invisible" thing is 0.05mm x 0.05mm in size, and it's using Radio-frequency identification technology, the same as for instance electronic toll collection systems (ABC in Slovenia). Not a big conspiracy theory fan, but imagine how easy it's gonna be to tag us in the future, when this hits massive production. I'm gonna be so old fashioned when I'm old, kids are gonna go - "he doesn't even have any chips in his body!", but I don't think I'll ever do it on my free will.

Are you up for some heavy stuff? Like You all know I'm a huge geek by heart, and that includes hours and hours of wiki-reading late at night every few days when I feel like it. Last night I was all into futurism and was reading about these wicked ideas about not so distant future. The pace that we live in is unbelievable, and was never nearly as fast.

Dramatic changes in the rate of economic growth have occurred in the past because of some technological advancement. Based on population growth, the economy doubled every 250,000 years from the Paleolithic era until the Neolithic Revolution. The new agricultural economy began to double every 900 years, a remarkable increase. In the current era, beginning with the Industrial Revolution, the world’s economic output doubles every fifteen years, sixty times faster than in the agricultural era. If the rise of superhuman intelligences causes a similar revolution, one would expect the economy to double at least quarterly and possibly on a weekly basis.

Most theoretics think a so called "Technological singularity" will take place in a few decades. What is it?

... if machines could even slightly surpass human intellect, they could improve their own designs in ways unforeseen by their designers, and thus recursively augment themselves into far greater intelligences. The first such improvements might be small, but as the machine became more intelligent it would become better at becoming more intelligent, which could lead to an exponential and quite sudden growth in intelligence.

Mmmmm. Even better, this is going to happen in our lifetime, futurists agree, most of them setting the date somewhere between 2030 and 2045. Read the whole article if You find this even slightly interesting, there is much more unbelievable ideas and concepts, like for example post scarcity, which is an inevitable future of our civilization and economy, where everything will be practically free, and there will be no human labor necessary at all.

I don't know how very weird is the fact that I honestly find stuff like that interesting, but I do, and considering that idea of technological singularity is often used in popular culture (Matrix, Terminator, Battlestar Galactica ...), I'm not the only one.

I am excited about the future, I just hope we all live to see it, and not nuke ourselves before our society can progress to higher levels.

This must be the best dub I've ever heard, I am in love with the elegance of this track, I mean it's so cleverly made, that i can't call it anything else except elegant! It is based around bass and the very subtle sound of a woman breathing, and singing "ooh" is so cleverly incorporated in the track. Very minimalistic, with every sound exactly at its place to make the song as beautiful as it can be. Not to even mention the sound game starting about four minutes in. Turn on the bass, and dive in!

I finally found another amazing movie, that matches the awesomeness of the holy American Beauty, Brokeback Mountain, Juno and the likes. I mentioned it's soundtrack in a quick recap post when bringing this blog back to life. The movie itself is just very mature and entertaining, simple, without any stupid Hollywood crap. The story is developing slowly, with lots of beautiful cinematography, and delicate dialogues, that you can slowly absorb. Anyone generally agreeing with my movie taste - see it.

Me and my housemate watched TV in the kitchen, when a show called Chatty Man came up on Channel 4. It was the first ever episode of Alan Carr's new show, and it was FUNNY! I don't wanna sound like a snob, but I find a big majority of comedy to be just just plain stupid and not funny at all, so I was so much more surprised to enjoy Chatty Man that much. Alan is such a sweet, flamboyant character, and for the first time in my life I am a fan of a comedian. He is 33, openly gay, and known for his deliberately camp demeanour and self-deprecating humor. Crystal Castles are the freshest thing I've heard in a very very long time, and I fell in love with them completely. The whole album is something else. It can be quite violent and sometimes without any melodic form, and the sounds are so innovative, that it sounds like it's from 2030. It's like a nintendo on steroids mixed with screaming lesbians and cheerleader chants, and the overall feeling of the album is amazing. You can't have it as background music, it is way to intense and intrusive. This is my favorite song, but it is a hard call, because I love about half of the album and I like the other half. It screams YOUTH! ENERGY! FUTURISM!

I don't have a better explanation for my long absence, except that I didn't feel like blogging, and for some reason distanced myself from my creative internet activities, and rather resort to consuming web activities. I have more home-time lately, and consequently spend considerably more time online, and I really started to miss blogging.

So to quickly catch up with what I've been impressed with during this time of absence, let me present you with some (mostly very geeky) photos:

Black Eyed Peas and their "Boom Boom Pow" is a huge hit, and I got infected with the video and sound. Getting over it by now though.

Very enjoyable movie, I love it, but even more so it's soundtrack, which is very different to what I usually listen to - it might become my gateway album to modern jazz and such.

How can I post anything after such long time, without including some skyscraper. Well I can't! The spectacular, unbelievably tall Burj Dubai is about to be overshadowed by another mammoth project in the same city. It's called Nakheel Harbour Tower, and it's gonna be !!1400!! meters tall - almost 4x WTC or 2x Burj Dubai.

The Stanford torus is a proposed design for a space habitat capable of housing up to 140,000 permanent residents. Build it in my lifetime please.

Apparently the next big thing in home design - Office Pod, home office-cubicle for the garden. SO cute I want one.

I joined Star Trek Mania, the movie is a very cool, fresh and a successful reset of the franchise. Don't even get me started on Chris Pine ...

Okay, this is weird, but I have a thing for elegant traffic solutions like this. It's the most elegant highway junction I've ever seen. Situated in Bergen, Norway.

Saint Etienne don't have one song, that I could particularly expose, but their greatest hits album as a whole is as nice as a road trip across Spain at summer with friends, in a convertible.

Speaking of Spain - this is one of only handful real IMAX cinemas in the world, and the architecture is stunning! Located in Valencia, Spain, the Hemispheric is a part of the "City of the Arts and the Sciences".

The new model of Boeing's biggest airliner 747 "Jumbo Jet" is the biggest yet. I just love its design, it looks much prettier than "fatter" european Airbus A380.

I could probably write a book about that. Back in my old days I would be spending my whole days on the computer, starting with morning coffee, then using it at work, and after that surfing and watching movies and tv shows at home. My lifestyle changed dramatically in the last five months, and as I just recently realized, my computer habits changed as well. It doesn't mean that I'm not spending almost every moment in virtual world whenever I'm at home, the thing is that this really is not that often. And when I am, I just wanna surf a little and watch something, or maybe not even that, because it's already too late.
I guess I'm trying to explain why I'm not taking such great care of this blog as I used to. Here are the reasons, and recipee on how to become a lesser geek:

- Get a very low-tech job, where u can't use your computer, but rather actual papers and stuff.
- Buy a mobile broadband usb dongle from the suckiest provider, and don't have broadband internet.
- Don't have a proper table and chair in your room.
- Don't have any time to relax and chill with your laptop.
- Don't have any money to keep upgrading your hardware.

Song of the week just became a grown up theme with the 18th fabulous post. This time we're going to the past, which is highly unusual, but don't worry, we are not leaving the 2000's. We are going to talk about a dead man though. Arthur Russel was a New York musician, who died of AIDS in 1992, aged 40. I found out about him on Friendly Fires celebrity playlist on iTunes, and had to buy it imediately after listening to the 30 second sample. It has this brilliant, laid back stereo sound effects, which combined with his melancholic vocals, and sweet lyrics makes one hella good song. Record was released on the 2004 album "Calling Out of Context", compiled by Steve Knutson, and I'm not sure if I like anything else on it.
This ambiental masterpiece has been playing in my earbuds for the past couple of weeks, and even though I bought a lot of great music lately, this is so far creme de la creme of my music library in 2009. Let's start a year with a dead man!

I found my new favorite TV Show!
I've heard it's great from three different people, so I just went and bought series 1 and 2 on DVD, and really enjoyed them. I watched them over the new year's, which included a whole lot of partying, and it felt good to watch the show on all those "day's after", and further accelerate the party mood.
Programme is very hardcore, made differently, therefore fresh, and astoundingly aesthetic to watch. It includes a lot of drugs, and sex. Would recommend to anyone, who likes to watch beautiful young people doing fierce stuff :) Trailer for series one is below.

Another Anniversary, Another Apology

This is 201st post on this blog. I'm sorry I haven't kept busier lately, but I think I have a few good reasons. First one is Christmas and new year's crazy partying, which lasted for more than a week, and it was a real hell-raising, as one of my London friends would say. After that I went back to my routine, except I was constantly tired, and I think that could be psychological, since I was again feeling a bit lonely, after my friends, who were visiting during the holidays, left in early January. I just now came back from visiting my home country for the first time since I moved to London, and that was surreal, intense, and a lot of fun, so posting had to wait until now.
I just want to let you know, that the blog did not die, and I am still very much looking forward to post things that I came up with in time of absence.

I am amazed. Two absolutely perfect and fantastic songs have found their way to my awareness in the last month. That's a regular quota for the whole summer, if we really say PERFECT. I found the latest love on Kitsume Maison Compilation 6, which is pretty great overall, there was a Hot Chip Remix that I liked, and then bought the original song. Rob Smoughton aka Grovesnor is a british producer, who used to work with Hot Chip, but they split ways, and hated each other, until they made up with current members remixing this song. Aaaawww.
The track is is electro pop at it's best. You can hear Hot Chip in it, which are quite spectacular by themselves, mixing melancholic vocals with funky beats. But the best contrast is that of a retro 80's feel good chorus, and neo disco electro sound, that is now breaking on the mainstream with artists like Justice and Sam Sparro.
"Drive Your Car" starts off very shy and scared, but then at it's unbelievably good chorus, when you get to know it better, become full of joy and love. I love the fact, that I live in the city where music like this is made!

I don't usually get too much into politics or activism, but lately I am getting honestly annoyed by the laws, and by all the bullshit that is going on. First, and the hardest thing that I had to deal with is the fact that I am gay. I came out at a very young age, it was a hard era of my life, but am so proud of myself that I did it, and not live a lie, especially because I was growing up in a small village is Slovenia, and there weren't a lot of liberal people. Go me!
The thing that I think was progressively discriminated during the last years, and that I want to talk about in this post, is marijuana. If there is justice to be made, law should either prohibit alcohol, or legalize weed, because alcohol is MUCH stronger, aggressive, and potentially dangerous drug. I don't want to advocate being high all the time, but personally - it's much bigger deal to get drunk then to get wasted. I found this very interesting blog, which got me thinking, and realize once again how my life is controlled by conservative, church going FUCKS, that can't mind their own fucking business, and think that their believe is ultimately and absolutely the right one for all people.

History of marijuana's criminalization is filled with:
Racism
Fear
Protection of corporate profits
Ignorant, incompetent, and/or corrupt legislators
Personal career advancement and greed

As I learned, an article from the 1934 magazine goes:

So fucking what? I would like to believe, that we are past all that, and that all people can ask that, but same twisted shit is still happening in stupid, stupid, stupid minds of billions on this planet. Look at that:

Mormons who traveled to Mexico in 1910 came back to Salt Lake City with marijuana. The church was not pleased and ruled against use of the drug. Since the state of Utah automatically enshrined church doctrine into law, the first state marijuana prohibition was established in 1915.

Grrrrr, another religious repression. I would just like to shake and slap all this puppets of corrupt church leaders.

Recently added to the list of the great church successes: Proposition 8 in California. Wow, you gotta love them.

This is the most beautiful love song I've ever heard. It's also quite an old one for this blog, since I had it on my iTunes since the beginning of 2007. It became fifth most played song in my library with almost 140 plays. Surprisingly Gran Bel Fisher's album is not that brilliant on the whole, this song really stands out, and I just love the feeling of it ... it's so emotional yet not sleazy, guitars are dreamy, and the chorus is ... omg, so beautiful, and it get's better every time you hear it. It's not a catchy pop, but rather a slow grower, and those are usualy the best, because they last for a looong time when you realize their beauty. Very subjective "Song of the week", but well ... you'll have to just deal with it, it's my blog, and I'm not in the mood for being too professional :)

I feel that this blog is becoming more personal, especially with all new stuff that are going on around me as well as inside my head. I think I might be growing, but there is still a long way to go for me to become a truly mature person, as I realized just today. The big problem is, I think, the fact, that I still haven't completely decided what kind of life I want for myself in the future. There are ideas, but I will have to pick one, because if I don't, my life will ramble without a definitive route, and I might not like where it leads me. It is kind of similar to my two sub-personalities, which are this fierce & all fabulous diva, and a hopeless hippie just wanted to be loved and to have a roof above his head. When I think about the future of my life I can see me as a geeky, fit urbanism student, a hard working music producer, maybe a website developer with my own projects, or a ferosh drag queen. The cool thing is that all that is possible, but there isn't really room for more than one life. So what is going to happen? I think I'll stay on the safe side, on a career wagon if you'd like, simply because I'm too spoiled to ever give up my gadgets, and ... well I don't really have anything else of value. But when I think about my youth, and how quickly will go away, I get scared the same way I did when I decided to move to London. It's this not-living-my-life-at-the-fullest-extent fear, which forces me not only to change my living environment, but also my attitudes toward "weird", free thinking, open minded people. I have to constantly remind myself, that life can be WHATEVER I want it to be. Besides, I still have this weird obsession with celebrity, for which one shouldn't be ordinary. So do I dare to explode my weirdness all around, and just don't care, or am I stuck in the system of "climbing the latter"? It's not that I'm missing courage, it's just that I don't know which way to take, and when I walk on one possible route, I'm going further away from all others. Splitting point is coming soon!

One of my best internet ideas was to create this blog. I can't explain what I'm getting out of it, but it's very complimenting. The number of visitors is growing and growing, and what surprised me the most, was the fact that even when I couldn't post a lot, You were still coming to the blog. I want to thank you for that, because I am truly honored. I am sometimes unsure about which song should I feature on the blog, but that wasn't the case this time. It didn't happen until the first "Song Of The Week" post with Uffie, that I was so certain which song I absolutely LOVE the most this week. I own it for less than 24 hours (incl. sleeping), and have already listened to it 45 times in that time. Robyn is a goddess. The Swedish singer, trying hard to prove that pop can be slick, intelligent and fresh, co-wrote the song "Dream On" in 2006, when it was released by the producer Christian Falk in Sweden. Now it is due to be released in the UK and internationally, and it is right now becoming huge in London, since I've heard it on the radio a couple of times already, two weeks before the actual single release.
I saw Robyn live in Budva about a month ago, where she also sung this song, which I then heard for the first time. It is just so fresh, powerful, funky ... kind of "With Every Heartbeat"-ish, except it actually takes off on the chorus. Oh, and those high pitch sounds all over the song ... Seriously Robyn, I love you.

This is getting very annoying. I'm waiting for the guy to come and install broadband in our house, and he have one more day left to show up. I can't operate without internet, it's like I'm missing an arm, and broadband is especially needed now, because I want to keep contact with friends back in Slovenia. I also feel very sorry for this blog, but I just can't post much at this time.
Other than that, things are going fine. I got a job at HMV, finally got my own room in a house with cool flatshares, now I only need new friends. But the sad thing is, that they will never be able to replace those I left behind. Please people, visit me, I have a place to stay.

Ladyhawke was already featured in this weekly theme, and right now she became the first recurring artist in it. Originally from New Zealand, she is now based in London, where she's regularly performing gigs with Peaches, and I can't wait to see one. Not to give you the idea that I'm depressed and sad, let me show you, what I'm discovering on the other side of the spectrum. I've started to experience the nightlife, meeting new people, and one of them is just a treasury of new musical horizons. This is a band from Sweden, founded by two ex progressive rockers, which thought it would be fun to start making electro sounds. Now there is six of them, and they are creating pretty hardcore rave tunes, so my favorite is actually one of their softer ones. "Sponsored By Destiny" is amazing because of the contrast between almost popish retro-arcade-videogames sounds, and a serious party banger trance inputs and dance beats.

Seriously, I do, and I just realized this a few days ago, when I was feeling bad for not posting anything for such long time, and then went to see what was the last thing I posted. I was back in Slovenia when I did it, and though that's only a week ago, I feel like it happened in a completely different time and place.
Anyway, the reason for scarce posts is, like I informed you before, that I moved to London, and am trying to make it here. So I'm running around, looking for jobs, and meeting people. Besides I don't have my own place yet, so I don't really have the means to be a real blogger right now.
I'm optimistic, and am sure I'll settle just fine, and then I'll be able to further nurture my love for this piece of internet.

Like so many times before, things went horribly wrong just before my departure, and so my bellowed iPhone was stolen, probably by a "friend", and I lost my passport, and don't have any other form of ID. 		I recently stumbled upon a photo gallery of Hindenburg's interiors, and was impressed about the size of it. Too bad the tragedy happened, and the biggest flying machine ever built burned. I don't get it ... it all happened because the hydrogen ignited, but helium is not flammable at all, and they could continue building those things, except from then on they should be filled with helium. Besides - When's the last time an airliner exploded into an acre-wide ball of flame a thousand feet up and only killed 2% of the passengers? Apparently, of the 35 people who died, 33 of them died when they hit the ground -- after jumping out of the gondola to escape. That would mean that whole explosion/fire/crash, in itself -- only killed 2 out of a hundred-something people on board. Plus - How much safer would the Hindenberg have been if they hadn't, oh, say, painted the entire thing with a pigment that was later used as a SOLID ROCKET FUEL OXIDIZER?

Finally something fresh, and REALLY good. Glass Candy's synthpop music is all about electro, but at the same time dark and weird, with the serious italo disco (the first popular forms of electro music in the early 80's) sound. The whole album is like a dark pass by the Saturn, inside a comfortable, futuristic spaceship. This song is one of the lightest, pop-ish on the album, and I'm posting it because it was one of the two, which I very much liked even when I listened to them for the first time. I'm madly recommending the whole album "B/E/A/T/B/O/X".

Ok, this is just the cutest. Matthew Mitcham was one of only eleven openly gay athletes competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, out of 11,028 athletes. Ten of those eleven athletes were women, making Mitcham the only openly gay man to compete in the Games. He received the highest single-dive score in Olympic history, and brought home a gold medal. Everyone said that Cansei De Ser Sexy with their new album "Donkey" are more polished, smoother, and cleverly produced than ever before, and I can only agree. I saw them live at EXIT Festival last year, and they were kind of a disappointment, besides, that is their second album, which almost always isn't as good as the first one, so I was very skeptical about it, and have to confess my mistake now. "Believe Achieve" is a hot, fresh, electrish indie at it's best, sound samples are phenomenal, as well as the Lovefoxxx's voice. Bitch is exactly one month younger than I am, and this is just plain frustrating. I must do something with myself, and start rocking it while I still have my youth!

We spent a night in a cute small vacation town Bad Gastein, and went to see Salzburg the day after. Me and my designer friend did quite some work on a unique new look for the blog. We've came up with something radicaly different, and easier on the eye. So if You came here, and was all like "omg where am I?!", I'm happy to inform You, that there will still be tons of fabulous posts, only they will look prettier.
Speaking about pretty ... I've came across a collection of photos from New York's rooftop gardens and penthouses, and don't I wish one! Penthouse apartment is ideal way of living, because it combines positives of both, apartments and houses.

About half a year ago I accidentally visited a small village on mountain Pohorje, and felt SOOOO happy when I got back to our capital. So happy in fact, that it actually switched my musical focus to modern, fresh, urban electro. I wanted to embrace the urban lifestyle because I found out, that this isn't something one should take for granted. Not everyone have internet access, public transportation, night clubs, movie theaters, coffe shops and even markets.
Anyhow I'm thinking time is comming for me to kinda return to the style I've listened before Pohorje. Of course I still love electro, and am a fierce bitch, but I'm also starting to feel the appeal of perhaps a bit more classic songs. Beacuse of the delay I'm posting a double post again.

First act I've recently come to like is Joan As Policewoman. It is a 3 piece band with Joan Wasser as a frontwoman. She plays violin, guitar and piano, and writes all of their songs. Album as a whole is very emotional and deep, as is the song "Eternal Flame", which was the most succesful single from their album "Real Life" in 2006. Despite she's 38 years old, she looks absolutely fantastic on the cover, kinda lesbian even. Really really beautiful woman, I want her as my friend :) For the first time I'm attaching the lyrics, because they shouldn't be missed.

Let's cheer it up. Second song of the week is a happy retro 80's song with an amazing chorus. It could really almost be released in '89, except it is only a few months old. The Virgins are not yet well known band, which got their first break in the TV show Gossip Girl, where they played only their songs in one entire episode. I got the album and immediately fell in love with this track. What do you think? Don't it reminds You of the times when You were too young to really remember anything, but still have kind of a subconscious melodic memory about it? I'm a 80's baby, baby!

This is a fresh video for single "The One". The song sounds much different than the album version, which is more moody and dreamy, this one is pure dance, and very gay. It was one of my favorites on the "X" album anyway, and I think video did it justice, being very visually appealing. High point about three minutes in.

I found this song written on my virtual sticky note, and didn't remember when I wrote it down. I figured I probably heard it sometime, and liked it. So I got it, listened to it on repeat while Lucy was taking a shower, and considering that it got about 10 play counts during that time, that was a looong shower. Anyway I feel it's a pleasant pop song, which didn't explode in my head with fresh samples and wicked sounds, but rather just build a happy, calm feeling, which grew stronger every time I listened. Let's make a double post once again, since I was away for such long time. That only happened at the first Song Of The Week post.

The first track is really alternative and out there, and you will probably have to get used to it. The singer's name is Santogold, and she is due to break on mainstream by the end of this year, which she partly did it already with single "L.E.S. Artistes", which is much more mainstream and radio friendly. 32-years old lady had previously toured with M.I.A., Bjork, and Architecture In Helsinki, which I think are all kind of musically similar to what she does. She had an album out in April, it's called "Santogold", and I suggest you get it.

Second song in this post is very different. It's organic, indie, popish, pretty, and somehow retro 80's influenced. Ladyhawke is essentially the solo project of Pip Brown, New Zealand girl who recently moved to London. I'm totally digging her voice, and was impressed, when I found out that she plays 10 instruments. She wrote "Paris Is Burning" after visiting Paris in 2007. I was particularly intoxicated with this song during this year's Exit Festival. You might also want to check out the video.
